Biography

Emma Colberti was born October 2nd 1972 at Nogent-sur-marne, under the name of Marie Emmanuelle Lassegue. Since her tender childhood she wants to be a trapeze artist. Her parents supported her and provided herself with the means of her ambition. They allowed her to integrate the Gruss school. At only nine years old, always passionated by the show, Emma turned to theatre, « I had a specific idea of what appealed me. Circus, theatre, comedy are close worlds.
I integrated the Simon’s enclosed curses that took care of children, but quickly I’ve been bored. I wanted to be on stage, to play opposite somebody and not only to learn the text. I feel today the same. »

At 14, she followed "les cours Florent" wich she continued after her graduate. She’s in the same promo that Sylvie Testud and Gregori Derengère, two young actors who just got the French cinema award. Then she left this prestigious course to join Jean Louis Matin Barbaz company, in which she can finally express all her talent.
« Dancing curses, singing lessons, saying lessons, I benefited from a real training. This period is still unforgettable. During three years we travelled all around France, playing classic plays. "Le marriage force" and "Le misanthrope" written by Molière, or "Britanicus" by Racine. In parallel I began to play in TV movies or TV series. Little by little, movies take place other theatre. »

Today, Emma links roles for TV and movie. « I’m an actress before all, but it’s true that I’m also dependent of casting directors, that have tendency to propose me the same kind of roles. Fortunately, more and more directors take risks. I shooted with Catherine Breillart in "Romance", and I’ve just finished the shooting of "Fracassés" a dramatic comedy by Llopis Franck. »
